Walt Disney World Swan
Michael Graves' swan-topped Marriott on Crescent Lake — Disney location and perks at Bonvoy prices.
Other On-Property Hotels EPCOT area $300–$550/night (Marriott)
The Swan is one of Walt Disney World's worst-kept secrets: a Marriott-operated hotel standing on Disney property in the middle of the Crescent Lake neighborhood, sharing the same walk-to-EPCOT, boat-to-Studios geography as the Yacht Club next door — routinely at hundreds less per night, and bookable with Bonvoy points. Guests get the Disney perks that matter most — Early Entry every morning and eligibility for deluxe-tier Extended Evening hours — without the Disney rate card.
The building itself is peak 1990 Michael Graves postmodernism, crowned by two 47-foot swans and facing its sibling Dolphin across a palm-lined causeway. Between the two hotels runs a shared three-acre grotto pool with a waterfall and slide. Dining skews adult and convention-polished: Il Mulino New York Trattoria for Italian, Kimonos for sushi and karaoke that gets rowdier than anything Disney operates, plus the Fountain and Java cafes downstairs — and the entire BoardWalk restaurant row is a ten-minute stroll around the lake.
The trade-offs are knowable: no Disney theming in the rooms, a nightly resort fee plus paid self-parking (factor both into the comparison), no Disney dining plan, and Magic Kingdom/Animal Kingdom rides on the hotels' own bus fleet rather than Disney's.
Who it suits: points travelers, conference attendees smuggling in a park day, and anyone who wants the EPCOT-walk lifestyle at the lowest cash price. Theming devotees should stay across the lake.
