Ask our Disney planning bot on Reddit

Post a park question in r/ropedropplanner and u/ropedropplannerbot answers from real wait-time history: the best time to ride, which ride to do first, how busy a day will be, park hours and more.

Help us test it

The bot is new. Ask it a question or two about a trip you're planning, and tell us when an answer looks wrong or it skips a question you'd expect it to handle.

How to ask

  1. Join r/ropedropplanner

You need a Reddit account (free). The bot only works inside this subreddit.

  2. Post your question

Put the question in the title and include the park and the day. If Reddit asks for a flair, pick "Question". Posts flaired Trip Report or Photo are skipped.

  3. Watch for the reply

The bot replies to your post when it's confident in the answer. You can also ask in any comment there by writing u/ropedropplannerbot and your question.

What it does and doesn't do

It covers

  • Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resort, plus Disneyland Paris, Tokyo, Hong Kong and Shanghai
  • Best times to ride, waits by time of day, which ride to do first
  • Crowd forecasts, park hours, Lightning Lane prices, menu prices, height limits, closures

It won't

  • Give opinions, like "is Lightning Lane worth it?" or "which hotel is better?"
  • Guess. If it isn't confident, it stays quiet.
  • Show live waits. Answers come from historical averages, so check the Disney app on the day.
  • Reply more than 5 times an hour. If lots of people post at once, try again a bit later.

Tell us how it did

Most helpful to report: an answer that looked wrong, a question it ignored, or a reply that was confusing. Reply to the bot's comment on Reddit, or message the subreddit's moderators.
