Is it the party, or the weekday?
Party nights fall on set weekdays, so the comparison above mixes two effects. Tuesday was always party days, while Saturday was always regular days in this window, so the weekday mix can explain part of the gap. The fairest check is the weekdays that had both: Mondays averaged 18.2 minutes on party days (1) vs 23.8 on regular days (5); Wednesdays averaged 15.4 minutes on party days (1) vs 24.3 on regular days (5); Thursdays averaged 14.9 minutes on party days (5) vs 26.8 on regular days (1); Fridays averaged 15.9 minutes on party days (6) vs 13.1 on regular days (1); Sundays averaged 15.2 minutes on party days (5) vs 21.0 on regular days (2).

What it means for your trip

- The gap is widest at 3–6 PM: 16.3 minutes on party days vs 25.8 on regular days (-37%).
- Party guests get shorter lines too: 11.3 minutes on average from 7 PM–midnight, vs 15.6 on a regular evening.

Methodology
- Waits. Every posted standby wait RopeDrop logged at Magic Kingdom and the other Walt Disney World parks while a ride was operating (waits above 0), November 7–December 21, 2025. Timestamps converted to Eastern Time before grouping by date and hour. Averages weight each reading equally.
- Party days. Our park-hours archive starts in May 2026, so the 2025 party nights come from the wait data itself: on a party night Magic Kingdom stops posting waits while day guests leave, then keeps posting until midnight, which no regular day in those months did (24 nights). Other dates in the window are regular days (21). The early close (6 PM) and party start (7 PM) are read the same way. Waits before 2026 were logged in park-local time, so they're used as logged.
- Window. The full 2025 season; these results no longer change.
