Is it the party, or the weekday?
Party nights fall on set weekdays, so the comparison above mixes two effects. Tuesday and Friday were always party days, while Monday, Wednesday and Saturday were always regular days in this window, so the weekday mix can explain part of the gap. Methodology
- Waits. Every posted standby wait RopeDrop logged at Magic Kingdom and the other Walt Disney World parks while a ride was operating (waits above 0), August 7–September 29, 2026. Timestamps converted to Eastern Time before grouping by date and hour. Averages weight each reading equally.
- Party days. Dates with a special ticketed evening event at Magic Kingdom during the Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party months on Disney's published park-hours calendar (22 with wait data). Other dates in the window are regular days (32). The typical early close (6 PM) and party start (7 PM) also come from that calendar.
- Window. The season's first party day through yesterday; the page refreshes during the season and freezes after the last party night.
