Lightning Lane Sell-Out Times at Walt Disney World
A day-by-day calendar of when each Single Pass ride sells out, how often, and whether it comes back, measured from our own pricing checks on 119 days between April 11, 2026 and October 11, 2026.
Lightning Lane Premier Pass sell-outs
Dates where Disney stopped selling Premier Pass for a park. Future dates are checked once a day around 4 AM, so "gone by" is the first check where it was no longer offered; same-day times are accurate to about 30 minutes. A park that comes off same-day sale in the late afternoon isn't counted: that's Disney ending same-day sales, not a sell-out. Prices are the last price we saw.

Sell-out calendar
Every tracked day since August 10, newest week first. Red is sold out and still gone at our last check (with the time it went), amber sold out then came back, struck-through was never on sale at any same-day check, green was on sale all day. Faded days had no same-day capture. October 11 may still be in progress (dashed).
Single Pass sell-out times by ride
Percentages are out of the days the ride was on sale at one or more of our same-day checks. Times are the first check where it was gone, so they're accurate to about 30 minutes.

Not offered at any same-day check: TRON Lightcycle / Run on 70 of 119 tracked days; Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind on 51 of 118 tracked days; Seven Dwarfs Mine Train on 27 of 119 tracked days; Avatar Flight of Passage on 6 of 118 tracked days; Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance on 18 of 119 tracked days. Those days are left out of the percentages above: our checks only record whether a price was shown, so we can't tell a ride that sold out in advance from one that wasn't on sale or wasn't captured.
Gone before 7 AM and not back by our last check (excluded from the time columns, since same-day Single Pass sales for most guests open at 7 AM): TRON Lightcycle / Run 2 days; Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind 2 days.

Multi Pass: days it stopped being offered
Multi Pass is one purchase per park-day. Counted only on checks that actually looked at the Multi Pass screen (recorded since July 19, 2026). Late-afternoon disappearances can be Disney ending same-day sales ahead of park close rather than demand; our checks don't record which.

Does Lightning Lane sell out more on busy days?
For rides that don't sell out every day, we split the days we tracked at that ride's own median average standby wait, then compared how often the ride was gone for the rest of the day. "Busier" means a day at or above the median wait.
| Ride | Median wait | Gone on busier days | Gone on calmer days | Avg wait: gone vs still on sale |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Avatar Flight of PassageAnimal Kingdom | 51 min112 days | 32%56 days | 4%56 days | 66 vs 48 min20 vs 92 days |
| Star Wars: Rise of the ResistanceHollywood Studios | 45 min101 days | 25%51 days | 4%50 days | 64 vs 45 min15 vs 86 days |
| Seven Dwarfs Mine TrainMagic Kingdom | 45 min92 days | 80%46 days | 76%46 days | 43 vs 42 min72 vs 20 days |
Rides that sell out almost whatever the day looks like (gone for the rest of the day on 85% or more of the days they were on sale): TRON Lightcycle / Run (92% of 49 days); Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind (87% of 67 days). For these there is nothing to compare, so the practical advice is to buy as early as your booking window allows.
Small samples: each half above is only the number of days shown, and the rides that sell out only some days have fewer sell-out days still, so treat these as patterns, not rules. They will tighten as more days are tracked.
Methodology
- Source. RopeDrop's own Lightning Lane pricing captures from the Walt Disney World app: 9,147 same-day checks on 119 days between April 11, 2026 and October 11, 2026. 65 of those 184 calendar days had no same-day capture and are not counted.
- Timing. Checks run roughly every 30 minutes from early morning until late afternoon or early evening. A time shown is the first check where the ride was no longer offered, so the real sell-out happened within about 30 minutes before it. Nothing after our last check of the day is known.
- "Sold out" means "no price shown". Our checks see only whether a ride was on sale, not why it wasn't. A ride can drop off briefly for other reasons, which is why "gone for the day" is tracked separately from "sold out at least once".
- Excluded. Checks from our separate Premier Pass capture (it doesn't read Single Pass or Multi Pass prices; Premier sell-outs have their own section above), and checks made on earlier dates for future days. Rides need 10 or more on-sale days to be listed, and a median time needs 5 or more days.
Frequently asked questions
What time do Lightning Lane Single Passes sell out at Walt Disney World?
On days a ride sold out and stayed sold out through our last check of the day, the median time we first saw it gone for good was: Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind around 1:45 PM (56 days); TRON Lightcycle / Run around 2:15 PM (43 days); Avatar Flight of Passage around 3:40 PM (20 days); Seven Dwarfs Mine Train around 3:45 PM (72 days); Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance around 5:45 PM (15 days). Times are Eastern, from pricing checks about every 30 minutes, tracked April 11, 2026 to October 11, 2026.
Which Lightning Lane sells out most often at Disney World?
TRON Lightcycle / Run (Magic Kingdom) was gone for the rest of the day on 92% of the 49 tracked days it was on sale at our checks; it was never offered at any same-day check on another 70 days, which can mean it sold out in advance or wasn't on sale.
Do Lightning Lane Single Passes come back after selling out?
It depends on the ride. In our same-day checks, TRON Lightcycle / Run sold out at least once on 47 days and stayed gone on 45; Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind sold out at least once on 60 days and stayed gone on 58; Seven Dwarfs Mine Train sold out at least once on 75 days and stayed gone on 72; Avatar Flight of Passage sold out at least once on 48 days and stayed gone on 20; Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance sold out at least once on 55 days and stayed gone on 15. Where the two numbers are far apart, the ride usually came back on sale later the same day after selling out, so it can be worth checking again.
Does Lightning Lane Multi Pass sell out at Disney World?
Share of tracked days Multi Pass stopped being offered and didn't come back before our last check: Animal Kingdom 66% of 73 days (median 5:45 PM); EPCOT 1% of 71 days; Hollywood Studios 1% of 73 days; Magic Kingdom 0% of 73 days. Late-afternoon disappearances can reflect Disney ending same-day sales ahead of park close rather than demand.
Does Lightning Lane sell out more on busy days?
For the Single Pass rides that do not sell out every day, yes: Avatar Flight of Passage was gone at close on 32% of its busier days vs 4% of its calmer days; Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance was gone at close on 25% of its busier days vs 4% of its calmer days; Seven Dwarfs Mine Train was gone at close on 80% of its busier days vs 76% of its calmer days. A "busier" day is one where the ride's own average standby wait was at or above its median for the days we tracked. Some rides sell out almost regardless of how busy the day is: TRON Lightcycle / Run (92% of days), Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind (87% of days). For those, buying early matters more than the crowd level.
