Let's connect your Disney account

Someone in your family is using RopeDrop to plan your Disney trip, and they asked you to connect your account so the planner can help manage your Lightning Lanes.

You will not share your password with anyone. This just adds a helper to your Friends & Family list — the same way you'd add a cousin or a grandchild — and you can remove it at any time.

What you'll do

Inside the My Disney Experience app on your phone, you'll add a helper named below and send back a short code. That's it.

The helper to add is named the name your family member sent you with this link

It varies by account, so there's no single name to look for — whoever shared this page with you can see their exact assigned name on their RopeDrop Settings → Disney Account page.

  1. Open the My Disney Experience app

    It's the app you use for park tickets and reservations. If you don't have it, download "My Disney Experience" from your phone's app store and sign in.

  2. Open the menu

    Tap the menu button — look for something like three lines (☰) or a "More" or "⚌" icon, usually in a bottom or top corner.

  3. Find "My Family & Friends"

    In the menu, look for something like My Family & Friends or Family & Friends List and tap it.

  4. Choose to add a guest

    Look for a + button or a link like Add a Guest or Manage Friends & Family.

  5. Add the helper account

    When asked how you'd like to connect, choose the option to connect using a name and a linking code (sometimes called a "connection code"). Enter the exact name your family member sent you.

  6. Get your linking code

    The app will either show you a short 6-character code to share, or ask you to enter one. If it shows you a code, that's the one to send back. If it asks for a code, tell the family member who sent you this — they'll give you one to type in.

  7. Confirm the connection

    Tap to send or confirm the request. You're done in the app — the planner will accept it on their end.

What this does — and doesn't do

  • It lets the planner view and improve your Lightning Lane return times so your family spends less time in line.
  • It does NOT let anyone see your password.
  • It does NOT let anyone spend your money or make purchases.
  • It does NOT let anyone change anything else on your account.
  • You're in control: you can remove this connection any time from your Friends & Family list in the app.

Last step: send your code back

Text or email your 6-character code to the family member who sent you this page. That's all they need.
