How to Get the Hardest Lightning Lanes at Disney World
Which rides sell out, exactly when, and what they cost — from our own 2026 sell-out tracking, not guesswork.
Written by the RopeDrop Planner team. Sell-out times, prices, and re-release rates come from RopeDrop's continuous Lightning Lane tracking across every Walt Disney World park.
Lightning Lane is a race, and the prize goes to whoever books fastest the moment the window opens. The good news: it's a predictable race. The same handful of rides sell out first every day, at roughly the same times — so you can plan your picks before you ever open the app.

When (and How) to Book
- Multi Pass opens 7 days out for Disney resort guests, 3 days out for off-site guests, at 7:00 AM Eastern. Be logged in and ready.
- Lead with the sell-out rides above. Your first three picks should be the hardest ones — fill in walk-ons later, in the park.
- Re-book all day. The moment you tap into a Lightning Lane (or hit the 2-hour mark), you can book the next one. Treat it as a loop, not a one-time setup.
Single Pass (Individual Lightning Lane): Sell-Out Times & Prices
The top headliners aren't on Multi Pass — you buy them à la carte as Single Pass. They sell out fastest of all. Here's when each typically goes and what it's been running:
| Ride | Typically sells out by | Recent price |
|---|---|---|
| TRON Lightcycle / Run | 12:35 PM | $20 |
| Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind | 12:46 PM | $18 |
| Seven Dwarfs Mine Train | 2:20 PM | $12 |
| Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance | 10:18 AM | $21 |
| Avatar Flight of Passage | 11:10 AM | $15 |

Sold Out? It Probably Comes Back
About 92% of the Single Pass sell-outs we tracked were re-released the same day. Disney drops fresh inventory in waves and guests cancel constantly, so a ride that's gone at 11 AM is often bookable again by mid-afternoon. The play: don't give up on a sold-out headliner — check back around 1–3 PM.

Frequently Asked Questions
When can I book Lightning Lane Multi Pass?
7 days before your visit for Disney resort guests, or 3 days before for off-site guests, starting at 7:00 AM Eastern. You make three advance selections, then add more in-park as you use them.
Do sold-out Lightning Lanes come back?
Often, yes — about 92% of the Single Pass sell-outs we tracked were re-released the same day. Disney drops new inventory and guests cancel throughout the day, so check back in the early afternoon.
What's the difference between Multi Pass and Single Pass?
Multi Pass (formerly Genie+) bundles most attractions for one daily price; you hold one selection at a time and stack more as you go. Single Pass (Individual Lightning Lane) is bought à la carte for the top one or two headliners per park that aren't on Multi Pass.
