Disney's Old Key West Resort
The original Disney Vacation Club — Key West pastels, the biggest villas in the system, and conch fritters at Olivia's.
Deluxe Villa (DVC) Resorts Disney Springs area $400–$800/night (or DVC points)
Old Key West is where Disney Vacation Club began in 1991, and the founding-member energy persists: pastel Key West-style buildings with tin roofs and gingerbread trim spread across the Lake Buena Vista golf course, a community of returning families who know the bartender, and villas that remain the largest standard floor plans in the entire DVC system — the one-bedrooms here dwarf newer builds, and every studio has a real balcony. For cash bookings it's frequently the most space per dollar in the deluxe-villa tier.
The Hospitality House hub holds Olivia's Café, the conch-republic comfort spot (conch fritters, banana bread French toast) that doubles as one of the easier table-service reservations on property, and the Gurgling Suitcase — a glorified closet of a bar with outsized legend status among DVC members. Good's Food to Go covers counter service, and the marina rents pontoons for Sassagoula cruising. The main pool's giant sandcastle slide and its quieter satellite pools keep the laid-back register.
The boat to Disney Springs is the charm commute; parks are bus rides, and the resort's spread means internal stops matter — request near the Hospitality House for first-bus convenience.
Who it suits: space-hunters, golfers, DVC renters chasing point value, and anyone whose ideal Disney evening is a drink at a tiny bar after the parks. Theming maximalists may find it more condo than kingdom — that's rather the point.
