Tokyo DisneySea has the longest lines of any Disney park in the world — in our worldwide ranking, its top four attractions all averaged more than 100 minutes posted over the last 30 days (Aug 28 – Sep 26, 2026). For Soaring: Fantastic Flight, 73% of every posted reading was two hours or more.
But those two-hour waits aren't evenly spread. Using every posted wait from the last 30 days, here's when they happen, which rides to hit first, and the one window of the day where they almost disappear.

The 7 p.m. window is the whole game
From 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., the big five sit at or near their peaks. Then the 7 p.m. hour happens: Soaring's average posted wait drops from 119 min at 6 p.m. to 85 min, and Frozen Journey from 104 to 77 min. Only 12% of Soaring's 7 p.m. readings and 9% of Frozen Journey's were 120+ minutes, against 78% and 82% between noon and 6 p.m.
The catch: readings thin out fast after 8 p.m. Soaring posted 73 readings in the 8 p.m. hour over 30 days versus 206 in the 7 p.m. hour — on many nights the queue closes around then. Treat 7 p.m. to about 8 p.m. as the window, and be in line before the posted closing time rather than after it.
Rope-drop order: which rides climb fastest
Tokyo guests queue well before opening, so the 9 a.m. hour is already busy. But some rides climb much faster than others in the first hour. The ones with the biggest jump from the 9 a.m. hour to the 10 a.m. hour are the ones worth being at first:

First, Anna and Elsa's Frozen Journey and Tower of Terror give you the most back for being early. Second, Soaring and Toy Story Mania! are already near their daily peak in the first hour — rope-dropping them saves little, and they're the best candidates for the 7 p.m. window instead.
A simple plan based on this data:
- Opening: Anna and Elsa's Frozen Journey, then Tower of Terror.
- Midday: rides that rarely post two hours — Raging Spirits (22 min in the 9 a.m. hour, ~61 min at 2 p.m.), Rapunzel's Lantern Festival and Fairy Tinker Bell's Busy Buggies, each under 5% of readings at 120+ minutes.
- Around 6:45 p.m.: get in line for Soaring or Frozen Journey, then the other if time allows.
- Anything you can't live without: check whether Disney Premier Access (the paid skip-the-line option at Tokyo Disney Resort) is being sold for it that day in the official app.
Fantasy Springs attractions have at times required a Standby Pass issued through the Tokyo Disney Resort app; check the app on the morning of your visit, because the data above only describes the standby line when it's open.

How we measured this. We log every park's official posted standby wait roughly every five to seven minutes. We only count readings where the attraction was listed as operating with a posted wait above zero, and we convert every timestamp to the park's own local time. These are posted waits — the park's own estimate at that moment — not measured time-in-line, and resorts differ in how conservatively they post, so treat cross-resort comparisons as a guide rather than a stopwatch.
