Reservations, Park Hopper and the fine print

  • Magic Key is Disneyland Resort's annual pass. There are 4 passes: Inspire Key, Believe Key, Explore Key and Imagine Key, for ages 3 and up.
  • Disney lists the Inspire Key at $1,899, the Believe Key at $1,474, the Explore Key at $999 and the Imagine Key at $599.
  • The Imagine Key is only for Southern California residents in ZIP codes 90000 to 93599.
  • A Magic Key holder needs both the pass and a theme park reservation for the same park and date. Magic Key reservations are a limited share of park capacity, are first come, first served, and can run out even when tickets are still available for that date.
  • Each pass has blockout dates when it can't be used and no reservations can be made; Disney publishes a calendar for each pass.
  • Inspire and Believe holders can hold up to 6 park reservations at a time, and Explore holders up to 4.
  • All 4 passes include Park Hopper admission: with a park reservation, a Magic Key holder can switch between the parks the same day, subject to availability.
  • Magic Key reservations can be changed or cancelled until 11:59 PM Pacific Time on the day of the visit, under Disney's no-show policy.
  • Disney estimates the Inspire Key pays for itself in 11 visits, the Believe Key in 9 and the Explore Key in 6, based on a Tier 0 Park Hopper ticket that it prices at $179.
  • California residents 18 or older can pay monthly: $99 down, then 12 monthly payments ($150 Inspire, $114.59 Believe, $75 Explore, $41.67 Imagine) at 0% APR.
  • New Magic Key passes are sold online only, in limited numbers, and go on sale periodically; a pass type can be unavailable, or open only for renewals, at any time.
  • When we checked Disney's ticket page on October 28, 2026, it described Magic Key passes as now on sale.
  • The Enchant Key is no longer sold or renewed since January 13, 2026, the day the Explore Key debuted; Enchant holders can use their pass until it expires and renew into a different pass.
  • Every pass takes 25% off Lightning Lane Multi Pass on days you use the pass for park admission (same-day purchases after park entry, subject to availability).
  • The parking benefit covers one standard vehicle a day at select pay-on-entry lots; the holder must be in the car with the pass, and it doesn't apply on the pass's blockout dates.

Upgrading a ticket to a Magic Key

  • You can put what you paid for an eligible ticket toward a Magic Key in the Disneyland app: a 1-day ticket by midnight on the day of your visit, a multi-day ticket by midnight on or before its last valid day. An unused ticket has to be upgraded at a ticket booth.
  • The Magic Key must cost at least what you paid for the ticket, only one ticket can go toward one pass, the pass is backdated to the ticket's first day of use, and existing park reservations don't carry over.
